BBC Micro Sound

I'm scan happy tonight, here's a PDF I made of the pages in the BBC Micro manual relating to its sound functions. It's fairly arcane. I used to just put random values into the envelope function until it made noises like a deranged arcade, way back when I was 9 or 10.

Chris,
You can actually download the entire BBC manual:

Strangely... I used to live round the corner from a guy called Chris Jeffs,

When was that then?

It must have been early 1980's. The Chris that I knew rather liked these curious things called "Picture disks", I also seem to remember that he liked music like "Pass the dutchie on the left hand side". I do also remember him liking the envelope function too. That VDU function could also be quite long, I remember fondly VDU 19,0,4,0,0,0 in MODE 6. That takes be back.... to a place called Prestbury.
I'm not your long lost neighbour am I?

I think you already know the answer to that! Anyway, please can we carry on this correspondence via email -> dj_cylob@durftal.com before any more sordid revelations from my previous life are revealed.
