Banal Picture



I'm not sure when I took this picture, it must have been when I was 9 or 10. The boring subject matter, wonky angle, bleached out and uninvolving colour pallette, lack of focus and balding man somehow make for a weirdly compelling exercise in banality that surely deserves to be rendered in oil paints on a huge canvas.

    I dig the "square wave" cut on those hedges tho. Perhaps you were subconsciously drawn to that.
